Music Appreciation Class for Adults

Feb. 18

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a sonata, concerto, and symphony?  Do you want to learn what a recitative in an opera has in common with rap music?  You can learn the answers to these questions and more in Rasson Betyonan’s upcoming Adult Music Class.

ACF is proud to announce a new Adult Music Class, which will combine both the fundamentals of music and music appreciation.  In this class, students will learn the history of music, how it developed over time, and what makes different genres of music unique.  They will also learn how to read musical notes, gain a better understanding of the Italian terms used in music, and discover what the mysterious symbols found on a music sheet mean.  By the end of the class, students should be able to analyze any piece of music, and therefore, have a deeper appreciation of it.

This is a discussion-based class limited to 10 people, so sign up quickly.  Once all of the slots have been filled, classes will take place every Thursday night on Zoom from 7:00 to 8:00 PM (CST).  Please contact Stella Moshi Sweiss ( stella.sweiss@acf-us.org)  to register for the class or to ask any further questions.
