The Assyrian Cultural Foundation proudly announces the launch of a new class titled “Assyrianism”, starting April 17, 2024. This class is taught by our Assyrian History Instructor, Robert DeKelaita & offers an enlightening journey through the depths of Assyrianism, exploring its foundational elements, cultural significance, & literary expressions.

About the Class: Embark on an exploration of Assyrianism from its origins to its present-day impact. This course delves into the essence of Assyrian nationalism through a scholarly lens, touching upon its historical roots, cultural richness, & the literary prowess that has defined the Assyrian identity over the ages.
Participants will gain insights into the evolution of Assyrian thought, culture, & literature, guided by the works & ideas of seminal figures such as Dr. Freydun Bet Oraham (‘Aturaya’), Benyamin Arsanis, Naum Faiq, William Daniel, Mishael Lazar Essa, Qasha Yousip Qaleta, & others. These scholars & nationalists have left an indelible mark on the Assyrian consciousness, shaping our collective memory & sense of identity.
Moreover, the course will highlight the contributions of contemporary artists & poets, whose creative endeavors continue to enrich the Assyrian cultural landscape. Through a mix of historical analysis & modern literary critique, students will immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Assyrianism, understanding its influence on nationalism, literature, & the arts.
