AUAF Receives Letter from the American Red Cross

Date: November 28, 2017

The devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and Hurricane Maria made a profound impact on our local Assyrian-American community. The aftermath of these natural disasters resembles the recent destruction of parts of the Assyrian homeland due to violence. We know firsthand the hardships and challenges that face devastated communities as they start to rebuild, and for that reason were moved to make a $20,000 donation towards disaster relief in solidarity with the affected communities.

AUAF Commits $20,000 to Hurricane Disaster Relief in Act of Solidarity

Date: September 28, 2017

The recent devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and Hurricane Maria in various states across the southern border and Puerto Rico has had a profound impact on our local Assyrian-American community. The aftermath of these natural disasters resembles the recent destruction of parts of the Assyrian homeland due to violence, namely the Nineveh Plain in Iraq and the Khabour Region in Syria. We know firsthand the hardships and challenges that face devastated communities as they start to rebuild.

For this reason, we have been moved to make a donation towards disaster relief in these areas to show our solidarity with the affected communities, donating a total of $20,000 to the American Red Cross. We hope this small contribution will help bring hope and healing to families impacted by these disasters.

Signed,

Tiglat Issabey
President
