Assyrian Art Exhibition – George Shamoun

Assyrian Cultural Foundation 4343 W Touhy Ave, Lincolnwood

Born in 1957 in Ras al-Ain, one of Upper Mesopotamia’s oldest cities, George Joseph Shamoun draws inspiration from his Assyrian heritage to recreate and reinterpret ancient artifacts through modern media. His work bridges past and present—bringing museum-confined treasures to life through copper, photography, and oil painting. With each piece, Shamoun honors the artistic legacy of his ancestors while passing down a renewed sense of cultural identity to future generations.
